Senator Talha Mahmood Expresses Deep Concern Over Chitral’s Backwardness, Promises Action on Key Issues
Chitral (Chitral Express) – Newly elected Senator from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chairman of the Talha Mahmood Foundation, Talha Mahmood, arrived in Chitral on an official visit, receiving a warm welcome from hundreds of locals who lined the route from Lowari Tunnel to Chitral town. During the journey, he also offered on-the-spot financial assistance to those requesting aid.
On the second day of his visit, Senator Talha Mahmood addressed an introductory meeting with members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) at a local hotel. He emphasized that while Chitral faces numerous challenges, he will raise the issues of health, education, and road infrastructure vigorously in the Upper House of Parliament. He added that his foundation would work to resolve smaller local issues directly.
Explaining his political alignment, Senator Talha Mahmood stated that he joined the PPP inspired by the vision of Asif Ali Zardari and credited him for the party’s success in winning five opposition seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the recent elections.
He expressed sorrow over the longstanding neglect of Chitral, stating, “It pains me deeply to see the backwardness in this region. So far, no real development has been done here. I will strive to ensure the construction of an expressway connecting Chitral to the rest of the province.”
In a unique gesture of commitment, he announced that he is dedicating his three sons to serve the people of Chitral.
Senator Talha Mahmood also visited the Chitral Press Club, where he participated in the press club’s special program “Mehrka” and recorded an exclusive interview. He further announced that he would be visiting Upper Chitral as part of his continued outreach.
