Abdul Wahid Khan, hailing from the far-flung region of Meragram No 2, Yarkhoon has been accepted to a Ph.D. program in Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford with generous funding from the IIS. His research revolves around communal and ecological practices of commons in Chitral and the impact of climate change and external agencies on this human-nature affiliation.
Abdul Wahid will be the first person from Chitral to start a Ph.D. from the top-ranking Oxford University. He is currently doing his master’s in Nature, Society, and Environmental Governance at Oxford University as well.
