Chitral Varsity Students Participate in National Project Competition 2020

Students of Department of Management Sciences, University of Chitral participated in National Project Competition 2020 at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology Karachi that held from February 23 to February 24, 2020. The team included Mr. Irfan Uddin, Ms. Irfana Muskan, Ms. Hashima, Ms. Laiba Gulab, Ms. Hanifa and Ms. Ruqayya who all hail from Garamchashma. Their project titled “Garamchashma Recycling and Décor” that is a social enterprise focusing on women empowerment through providing jobs to financially underprivileged females and cleaning the environment simultaneously. The students collect hard-waste such as plastic bottles, tins, wrappers, checkboards, polythene bags, milk and juice tetra packs, biscuit boxes etc. and after sanitizing turn them into useful and fancy products such as trays, stools, chairs, decoration pieces, frames, pen holders, bread boxes etc. About 40 prominent universities including IBA, NCA, NUST, Agha Khan University Karachi, University of Karachi, Dow University etc. participated in the competition and University of Chitral happens to be the only university from KPK. The social enterprise of students was highly appreciated and Governor Sindh, Mr. Imran Ismail paid a special visit to the stall and highly appreciated the amazing entrepreneurial idea of the students. Students’ mentor, Asst. Prof. Mansoor Ullah Baig, thanked Sybrid for sponsoring students’ travel to and from Karachi.
